The point
Most drink trackers feel like tax returns.
So people stop. Six familiar drinks. 3 seconds each.

Modelled lifetime chance of an alcohol-attributable death if this became your long-term average.

Track it for realHow the risk is modelled
The Damage interpolates the male and female population estimates in Table 1 of George et al. (2026). US 13.6g drinks are converted to 8g UK units. Above 35.7 units, the page clearly labels a straight-line illustration beyond the published range.
It is not a diagnosis, a prediction of what happens this week, or a UK clinical assessment.

Straight answers
Before you ask.
Where does my drinking data go?
Your log lives in the app’s private data store and can sync through your private iCloud account. The Damage does not send it to its own server.
What exactly does the percentage mean?
If your recent weekly pace became your long-term average, it is the source model’s estimated lifetime chance of an alcohol-attributable death. It is a population illustration, not your personal forecast.
Is anything shared automatically?
No. A scorecard stays private until you deliberately use the iPhone share sheet.
Is this trying to make me quit?
No. It makes logging easy and the pattern harder to ignore. What you do next is still your call.
What’s a unit?
Eight grams of alcohol. A pint is roughly 2.8 units; a shot is roughly one. The app does the arithmetic.
What am I joining?
The App Store launch waitlist. It’s for adults 18+ with an iPhone on iOS 18 or later. We’ll send one email when it’s ready.
Why roulette?
Because 2.4% is easy to scroll past. A probability you can see land is harder to ignore. The wheel is a visual, not a prophecy.
