Choose Add Friends on the LCD, then Show my QR, Share invite or Scan QR. Scanning a code or opening a shared link lets you request a connection. The other person must accept before either of you can send. Your invitation stays the same and can be shared with several friends; it is not consumed by scanning.
Send a voice message
Turn the wheel to highlight one friend, then press the centre microphone to start recording. Finish recording is selected by default: press the centre button to stop, then choose Send. To discard, turn the wheel to Discard or press Back, then confirm Discard. Pressing Back again on that confirmation also discards the recording. A recording can be up to 30 seconds. One message goes to one friend; the app remembers the last friend you successfully messaged.
After sending
The app returns to Friends after the server accepts your message. Sent does not prove the other phone played it or that somebody heard it. A short notice appears if sending fails or cannot be confirmed.
Free sends and Plus
Six sends are free each calendar month, resetting at midnight on the first in your current time zone. Friends shows the remaining allowance. Upgrade opens the optional monthly or yearly Plus subscription; receiving and connections are free. Restore purchases and Manage subscription are on the Plus screen. Cancelling renewal keeps Plus until the paid period ends. Deleting the app or its account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
UltraPing depends on internet delivery and iOS background execution. It is not an emergency communication service or a replacement for an important alarm set directly on your own phone.
Receiving doesn’t work
Both people should update UltraPing and open it once. In UltraPing Settings, choose Receiving permissions. Also check notification and alarm permissions in iPhone Settings. If the problem continues, email your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and what you expected to happen. Please don’t email private recordings unless necessary.
Disconnect or report someone
Hold the wheel while their name is highlighted. With VoiceOver, use the friend’s Connection options action. Disconnect ends the link for both people without affecting your other connections. Report lets you choose a reason for unwanted alarms, harassment, or inappropriate content and ends the link once the report is accepted. You can also report abuse by email using the contact above. Do not use UltraPing to harass, threaten, or send unsolicited or unlawful content.
Reinstalling or changing phones
Your account is saved in Keychain. UltraPing also enables iCloud Keychain recovery: use the same Apple Account with Passwords & Keychain turned on, and allow it time to sync. Your name, friends and QR code are fetched from your existing account. If setup appears before syncing finishes, choose Restore account. Account recovery and Restore purchases are separate: Restore purchases recovers Plus through the Apple Account used to buy it. Only the most recently registered phone receives your voice messages.
Delete your account
Open UltraPing Settings → Account → Delete account. This disconnects your people and removes your account and associated app data. If deletion is interrupted, open Settings and run it again to continue. See the privacy policy for retention details.
